I am an artist living near Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, Canada. I work in a variety of mediums, but my main focus is on fine art photography. My style can best be described as Contemporary Pictorialist, although I have images with a wide range of styles. I use a variety of techniques to illustrate the world according to my unique perspective.
That perspective is often at opposite ends of the spectrum. Joyous yet sad. Carefree yet troubled. It is a metaphor for my life. I have had great sadness but also great joy. I am married to my soul mate and best friend, but I struggle with family. I am a mom to a beautiful daughter. I’m a loner yet I am lonesome.
I am an artist. I am an image maker.
I have been a volunteer weather watcher for over 20 years. I am fascinated by the weather and climate. I love birds. Spring is my favorite time of year because I love watching for and welcoming the weary travellers making their return for the nesting season. I am often nicknamed Birdie. I am a lover of nature, puppy dogs, little girls, and laughter. I am a pessimist, optimist, real, surreal, emotional, calm, keeps secrets, loves to make people laugh; and believes everyone should just lighten up and be kind to one another. I am deeply saddened by the troubled world at times.
Although I post images daily, not all of these images are part of my portfolio. Although I will often reference and promote my art, this site is not meant to serve as a professional showcase for my career. I am an artist, but I am also just an ordinary human being with the same trials and tribulations as everyone else. Sometimes I cuss. Sometimes I am an idiot. Sometimes I say things I shouldn’t. Sometimes I post crappy pictures. Sometimes I just need to get stuff off my chest. Don’t hold it against me! This is my blog……warts and all.
